aya is a human musician from the Pennine region of the North Atlantic. Her work is primarily concerned with the transfigurative power of experience and memory on the physical body. Melding the sprawling bifurcations of soundsystem culture with delocalised internet scenes and post-hardcore lamentations, she casts stark sculptures in genre alloy.

Her work has been released with labels such Hyperdub, YCO, Tri Angle, Wisdom Teeth and Astral Plane recordings; not to mention her work as remix gun-for-hire. In October 2021 she released her debut LP 'im hole' to great critical response, Pitchfork's Best New Music chief among the lot. March 28, 2025 marks the release of her hexed! LP on Hyperdub which has garnered even more accolades than her debut, alongside her standout live show and DJ sets. She also runs the aforementioned label YCO with BFTT. aya has scored projects for the BBC, Manchester International Festival, NTS and CTM Festival.

Paavli.CLUB spotlights artists who define the edges of club culture. The series is known for bringing in distinctive voices presenting work that feels ahead of the curve. Previous Paavli.CLUB events have featured the likes of Hudson Mohawke, Tim Reaper, JASSS, umru, Mechatok, Snow Strippers, and many others.
